Yes this is a little complicated situation to handle with both for the people and the government, like in Pakistan when Benazeer Bhutto was killed.People were doubting it to be a deed done by musharraf the ex-pm of Pakistan.For constant good will among people government should act wisely and carefully

First off all I liked the saying by Thomas Jefferson, really there will be some conflicts arised between the people and the government in allmost all countries. It is very normal to every government, but the main thing is that the government should work for the people only because they are elected based on the public vote only
this saying has a very deep meaning especially for the people who live in some very bad conditions in some countries, everybody likes freedom but it's very hard way to reach so people have to struggle to get it

i think it is right .if govt maintain their policy accurately people can't fear them.so government should always more more… priority to people and their regular work

I totally agree with you! In my opinion, there is way too much tyranny in this pitiful world which we even dare to call free! There should be no such thing as government! What we call ' government ' is just a room filled with selfish devils that do not care about their own people but of their own salary checks!

This saying is especially true in Third World Nations. When the people fear the government, there is lack of trust and there's no community participation in decision making and other activities the socio-political man indulges in
